Within the framework of a creation residency at Diaphane, pôle photographique en Hauts-de-France, the photographer Israel Ariño toured, between June 2017 and December 2018, the territory of Clermontois under the prism of its seasons , facing unpredictable chance of the march and the desire to photograph in-between spaces that intrigued him. Ariño makes our memory of places oscillate between geographic recognition and temporal questioning, with images that question the past while reflecting on its future . The work of color is here an element of transfiguration, sometimes perverse, that drives us to rethink our perception of the territory, to subvert reality and, ultimately, to make it poetic.

Israel Ariño (Barcelona, 1974). Licensed in fine Arts. Starting in 2001, he definitively settled as a professional in the field of image, dividing his time between teaching, editor's work at Ediciones Anómalas and the production of personal works. His work -present in numerous public and private collections- is regularly exhibited in Spain and France. He is represented by Galerie VU in Paris.
