Between 1955 and 1965 Ramón Masats toured the geography of Spain with his camera . A commission on national values for the Illustrated Gazette that allowed the development of a new, synthetic language, accurate in its content and splendid in its graphics. Masats' work coincides with the end of the autarchy of the Franco regime and with the opening designed by the Ministry of Education and Tourism. Ramón Masats (Caldes de Montbui, Barcelona, 1931) is one of the protagonists of the renewal of documentary reporting in the sixties . The photographic essay Los Sanfermines , begun in 1955, is a basic work in his career. In 1964 he published Old stories from Castilla la Vieja , which included texts by Miguel Delibes, and exhibited alongside Carlos Saura. Starting in 1965, he moved closer to film and television ( He who teaches, Tropical Spanish or Know you Spain ). In 1981 he returned to dedicate himself fully to photography, but this time in color. His work has been recognized with various awards, including the National Photography Award .
