RENASCENCE is a choral book that combines photography and poetry around the work and life of the poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, one of the most influential women in 20th-century poetry, spokesperson of her generation for gender equality and representative of the New Woman of the 20s.
The book is made up of 9 self-portraits of female photographers inspired by poems by Millay, and a body of intervened contemporary and archival photographs, which visually trace the life and work of the poet.
"My goal is to vindicate and bring to the present a great artist who, like so many creative women, fell into oblivion. I wanted to rediscover her through the eyes of contemporary authors, and put her poetic work in dialogue with the images Through the intervention, I have given archive images a new meaning, drawing inspiration from nature, which was so important in Millay's work, and from his red hair, which has been a symbol and guide throughout the project." - Good Dew.
