In 2001, the photographer and visual artist Moyra Davey brought together thirty-two texts – essays, memoirs, stories – about motherhood , especially in its relationship with creative activity.
The anthology "Maternity and Creation", which we present here in its complete edition, did not take long to become a classic. Through disparate authors -from Sylvia Plath to Lydia Davis, from Margaret Mead to Toni Morrison, passing through Adrienne Rich, Margaret Atwood, Ursula K. Le Guin among many others- she managed to condense several decades of feminist thought , especially those of 1970- 2000, and illustrate from different perspectives a subject that never loses validity.
