Graciela Iturbide's work is a process of continuous vital exploration that, over four decades, has had dreams, rituals, religion and travel as protagonists.
"Although we deny our education, we carry it, it goes with us," he says when asked about his interest in symbols and rituals. And it is that the photographer - today a practicing agnostic - was trained in a Catholic and Mexican context of bourgeois origin, where the symbol and the rite were part of the language.
Moving between the documentary and the poetic, his singular way of looking combines life and dreams . Nature and culture, ancestral traditions, the rite incorporated into everyday life and the symbology of any object, occupy a central place in his work.
