A house, each and every one of the houses, from the most luxurious and large to the simplest, the smallest and the most humble, is that place where when we enter we feel safe, safe from the maelstrom that we leave behind. of the door. The new EXIT 84 is precisely dedicated to the house and the home, from its outskirts and its architectures and from its insides and its intimacies.

At EXIT 84 Home Sweet Home, the main texts by the architect Xavier Monteys and the art critic and curator Carles Guerra come together. Monteys attends to the interior dimension of the house as a framework where we can represent ourselves and Guerra starts from the work of Marta Soul to speak to us about emigration and displacement, contexts in which the idea of housing acquires a much greater burden. The EXIT 84 dossiers allow us to explore interiors with Laura Blight, Motoyuki Daifu, Jeffrey Stockbridge, Charlotta Maria Hauksdottir, Amparo Garrido or Yolanda del Amo, each from their perspective, which can range from a Japanese family with a more than crowded house to a reflection on interior ruins where the traces of previous lives still remain. The exteriors are attended by Wouter Stelwagen with his large skyscrapers, Todd Hido with his night walks and John Myers with a look focused on urbanism. We find a conceptual dimension in the photographs of John Paul Evans, who talks about the home from a perspective close to surrealism, and Annette LeMay Burke, who evokes memories of a house that, inevitably, also tells us about the passing of time.
