Artist and teacher, Andrea Costas Lago develops her creative work using various languages (installation, video, performance), although she is best known for her photographic work. His personal narrative usually deals with topics as everyday as they are universal from an emotional and psychological perspective.
Desapego is the result of a process of research and work over several years: an awareness of motherhood, a first-person view through art, separated from conventions and idealizations, in the wake of the work of other women like the poet Adrienne Rich, the photographers Ana Casas and Elinor Carucci, or the artist Ana Álvarez-Errecalde.
The project is made up of a set of pieces (photographic images, videos and installations) in which the artist reflects on the experience of her own motherhood, from a non-idealized point of view, recording the contradictions and challenges that this opportunity entails. offered by life to question ourselves and grow.
