Over the last ten years, Manuel Quintana Martelo has focused on a series of paintings in which the motif, the starting point, the excuse, are the containers he finds in the cities he visits . They all have a common line that attracts attention: initially, a defined sculptural presence, an attractive composition and a visual impact. The collection is based on a set of containers, treated as sculptural presences, but also as urban still lifes.
Along with the paintings in the series, which are exhibited in different formats, the exhibition includes preparatory sketches, drawings and large-scale watercolors , so that the montage as a whole allows us to know in detail the artist's way of working, and his response before different supports. All of this can now be seen summarized in this complete catalog of the exhibition held at MARCO in Vigo.
