During his three-week stay in 2013, Gilden documented overlooked people, factories and homes in the Midlands to reveal and study the changing landscape of post-industrialized Britain. Gilden focused on underserved and underserved communities; his aim was to shed light not only on the people who are often ignored in everyday society, but also on the trades and ideals that are slowly fading in UK history.
