Self-taught photographer and defender of his own gaze, Vari Caramés has never followed fashions or trends and has developed a very particular work that is nourished by daily life, the familiar and the memories and feelings that nest within him. His photographs are emotional and close, capturing the simplicity of events through veiled and subtle references.
The exhibition presented by the Community of Madrid in the Sala Canal de Isabel II is articulated spatially and discursively around three concepts –something, nothing, always– that act as diffuse brushstrokes of a complete and unitary corpus of work.
