Zaha Hadid was born in Baghdad into an artistic and liberal family. In 1980, he founded his own architecture studio, Zaha Hadid Architects, in London. There he obtained great international recognition with works that challenged the form of conventional buildings. He built the impossible, such as the London Aquatic Center, the Guangzhou Opera House, or the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center in Baku, Azerbaijan. Winner of multiple awards and accolades, including the Pritzer Prize, she is remembered today as a passionate feminist and pioneering architect.

The SMALL & BIG collection was initially conceived as a series dedicated to great women in history, but some time later male figures such as Jean-Michel Basquiat were also incorporated, because "the collection is about incredible people who believed in themselves and is a sample of diversity and the fact that we are all unique»
