"Nahui Olin" is an Aztec name that designates the power with which the sun makes the planets rotate , the renewing movement of the cycles of the cosmos. Carmen Mondragón (1893-1978), painter, poet, muse and model, was also known by the same name, one of the Mexican women of the first decades of the 20th century who marked her time with an indelible mark. Due to his passionate, creative and rebellious spirit, he is preserved in the collective memory along with the story of his loves and his already legendary green eyes. Its beauty dazzles in the murals of Diego Rivera; her sensuality breathes in the work of her lover, the brilliant painter Dr. Atl, her fiery gaze vibrates in the photographs of Edward Weston.

Adriana Malvido rescues her in a memorable, essential book that confirms the validity of a woman who "good consciences" had made her pay for her audacity, her freedom, her art and her beauty when they labeled her "crazy", like Camille Claudel, Joan of Arc or Frida Kahlo . The update of this work, with unpublished images and a new epilogue by the author, is of enormous relevance.

Nahui Olin, the woman of the Sun is a moving book from beginning to end. For a long time, even now, there has been no comprehensive criteria for classifying a woman of this nature.
