Manuel Álvarez Bravo —1902-2002— is a key figure in twentieth-century Latin American photography. He was born in Mexico, he was self-taught and his career spanned eighty years.
The influence he received from European masters, avant-garde photography, and the Mexican mural movement led him to develop a personal style considered the beginning of true Mexican photography. His work is part of the collection of important museums in the world.

Manuel Álvarez Bravo's language was black and white, however, he produced around three thousand color photographs. This book, the first dedicated entirely to his color images, presents the most significant of that set —nearly eighty— and, among them, many never before published. The selection encompasses a broad spectrum from his classic photographs to his little-known color experiments.
