Eduardo Momeñe is an exceptional portraitist who masterfully combines classicism and modernity; each of his black and white studio portraits possesses a timeless elegance capable of captivating the contemporary viewer. Despite the fact that his work focuses on portraiture, Momeñe is not interested in the personality of the sitter; for him, the subject is a mere actor in the image, who gives life to the photographer's universe. In his own words: "I love the beauty that people bring to photographs [...] but I am only interested in photographs."
The images collected in this new volume of the PHotoBolsillo collection are a small sample of his studio work over four decades.
