Bill Brandt (Hamburg, 1904-London, 1983) is considered one of the founders of modern photography. Although his work reveals his interest in contemplating the world around him, the preponderance of aesthetic considerations over documentaries and a permanent attraction to the strange were two constants in his career.
This catalogue, published on the occasion of the exhibition on the artist at the KBr Fundación MAPFRE Photography Center in Barcelona, includes specialized texts and reproductions of all the works on display, courtesy of the Bill Brandt Archive and the Edwynn Houk Gallery in New York: near of two hundred vintage images printed by Brandt, arranged in thematic sections spanning nearly five decades of work .
