This is the catalog that accompanied the Albert Renger-Patszch exhibition at the Sala Recoletos in Madrid and which reviewed his career from the 1920s to the 1960s , examining the wide range of genres that marked it.

Albert Renger Patszch (1897-1966) is one of the main protagonists of the New Objectivity -a movement that emerged in Germany at the beginning of the 1920s-, and is recognized as one of the most representative and influential figures in the history of photography of the 20th century. Renger-Patzsch's work stands out for a style based on sobriety and realistic frankness as essential criteria and for a rigorous technical and formal approach in which the camera is only used to intensify our perspective and awareness of things. That attitude was the only way to ensure that photography achieved its own aesthetic and conceptual identity, differentiated from the pictorialist heritage and the hybrid experimentalism of the 20th century avant-gardes.
